The librarian with pink claws, the hula dancer with red hands, the hairdresser, the shiatsu masseuse, the guitarist and the six-fingered girl. Various fingers, various hands. Touching, grasping and releasing. Five stories of people who feel with their fingers and hands the quiet world lying deep inside their minds.
I have a habit to distinguish notes by color. Do is "pink," re is "light blue," mi is "yellow," fa is "purple," so is "red," ti is "grassy green" and la is "orange". When somebody plays the guitar, these colors float a couple of meters away from their body. In addition to the guitar, I see the hovering colors even with instruments like the African djembe. But people would not play the djembe in do-re-mi, so with djembes all sorts of colors blend together and drift around. Regardless of the instrument, the shades are slightly different depending on who plays. Some people make distinct primary colors. Others make pastel colors. There are also people who make the colors overlap as the notes shift. Not everyone gives out colors, and it doesn't matter if they're good or not. The colors danced out of my guitar like a whirlpool. As the color of each note faded slowly, the wash of marbled colors overlapped. It was like a rainbow reflecting on a pond full of water striders. It was beautiful. But, one day, there were no more rainbows over the pond. - Title work: La
