More DescriptionWe are close to answer the question of treating Chronic Pain. Ultimate pain management has evolved out of the technique of "Unmasking and treating the underlying problem". Can a pill be an answer to chronic pain or a shot can work well. Physiotherapy cures the problem or it gives transient relief. Till date all major treatment protocols are palliative as our understanding of chronic pain had remained complicated and bewildered. However tendonitis being the cause of pain in pain knee joint, myositis, fibrositis or fasciitis being the cause in pain neck (Cervical Spondylosis) and lumbago-sciatica is a simple factor that has remained hidden from world of medicine and thus we remained handicapped in delivering cure to patients in these conditions. In an analysis of medical record of 147 cases of attempted suicide who visited their general practitioner in a three month time before attempted suicide, 51.7% were perturbed by the long standing chronic low back pain. This draws our attention to the graveness of the condition that we at times attribute to obesity and at times we term it functional. Now as we know these trigger spots playing their role in causing chronic pain it is very much possible to achieve lasting cure and relief from these chronic ailments. Our research work that is spread over two decades has proved that the conventional concepts for pain knee joint/ chronic low back pain/ cervical spondylosis are not valid. This research is not in denial to the modern research on the subject but we incidentally found the missing link that will make our access possible to the cause of chronic pain in these conditions. It is based on our long clinical research and a patient's bank of almost 5000 treated cases among these chronic conditions. Our conviction is that the findings we have presented may create a revolution in the treatment of myalgic problems and may altogether change the concepts in certain parts of rheumatology. This book was compiled in 2010 and at that time our aim was to put scattered research work in one cover. After two years of persistent work we furthered our understanding of chronic pain and we feel that it is imperative to review the book and thus we are preparing to publish the first edition. During this period we have given various presentations on the subject. Views were exchanged with different consultants. These led to our exposure to many ideas and have open new venues of discussion. These new aspects are touched comprehensively at various sections in the book.We have placed our technique at an appropriate place in the present classification of techniques in pain management. This is an effort to reclassify the techniques into more effective protocol. We have also set aside certain techniques that are not practiced, are highly invasive and with the introduction of our new technique their utility seems remote. In every chapter we have given a summary of present status of the topic. This is important as our findings have taken a place parallel to these widely accepted concepts. Prevailing information is not invalidated but is to be revisited in the light of new findings.
