Stop job search frustration ... Hiring companies are doing sneaky things to you ...
... you should know what they are and, maybe, do some sneaky things yourself.
For many years I wrote hiring software for recruiting firms. Hiring managers told me how they'd weed out applicants. I am going to share that, and how to get around these blocks, with you!
If you only knew how they exclude applicants, it would give you the leverage you need to get around that system. For example, some hiring firms advertise for fake jobs ... WHY!
If a recruiting company gets lots of requests to for say, Project Managers, they will run ads on the job boards to get resumes for Project Managers. So there really is no job, but there might be soon. In this case it's not exactly a lie, but it's not a real job. Sniffing out a fake from a real job can be very useful.
Imagine someone who worked at a bank that died in the Great Recession of 2008. They lost their job through no fault of their own. So why do employers exclude them from applying for positions? It's the lizard brain at work (see the book called Thinking Fast and Slow). The part of the brain that says, "if they are employed, they must be job worthy - if not they must be job unworthy."
That's what you're up against today, stupid, lizard brained thinking. And you need to find ways to get around that.
