More Description
A new text, stressing oral proficiency and a practical, modern vocabulary for professional fields other than education, this fresh approach to French language study fills the need for a contemporary French textbook for today's career-oriented students. Designed as a one-year course at the college and university level, it can be used also on the high-school level as a two-year course.
Each chapter contains dialogues (rencontres), grammar, vocabulary, exercises, and written and oral composition. The rencontres are nonsequential dialogues intended to develop the student's fluency in a variety of meaningful situations. Grammar is presented inductively through exercises and examples of structural patterns. Each chapter contains vocabulary, and is divided according to grammatical function. Cognates and deceptive cognates are listed separately.
In addition, comprehensive appendixes provide lists of auxiliary and regular and irregular verbs and extensive French-English and English-French vocabularies.
