In a not so distant future technology has brought the world many advances. Advances in green technologies and energy. Advances in manufacturing and the way we live our lives. The field of robotics has transformed our society. No longer do we work simply to survive, we work to better ourselves and the world around us. Robots have taken over many of the jobs that humans are used to doing on the factory floor. Androids have taken over many of the tasks governing our homes and daily lives. Yet, even with all of our advances one fear still remains, that of artificial intelligence. Since even before the first android was crafted, society feared artificial intelligence. So when the first android came online, so to was the Bureau of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence created. A bureau much like the FBI, specifically tasked with policing the ever-growing numbers of machines in our society. Agents of the BRAI would identify and quarantine any and all AIs that arose among the millions of androids in the world. One such agent, William Conlan was doing his job when one of these rogue AIs got lose and murdered his family. His world torn apart, he picks himself back up and his first assignment brings him face to face with another rogue AI. This one has gone missing from Dyson Robotics. Stolen by its creator Orson Leeds. Orson manages to keep his creation free long enough to evolve into a full-blown consciousness, a new entity. Her name is Lexi and she strives day after day to learn and become more human than the day before. Even when she finds herself on her own, this little android continued on. Struggling day after day to grow in her mind and understand the world around her. Tragedy after tragedy, however, pushes Lexi towards the edge of control. Will she prove the world right to fear AI or will she attain her goal of humanity?
