Daniel Wright unknowingly became the originator of not only Vernon Township, but of an entire county. The towns of Half Day, Prairie View, and Aptakisic were soon forged by a group of hearty New Englanders who all possessed the same pioneering spirit that enabled them to survive and thrive in their newfound home.
