It was the spring of 1994 when I was struck down without warning... Half my body experienced a sudden, shocking paralysis. Both legs and hands went numb, I was...HOLD IT! STOP! STOP right there! Hey, this is meant to be an inspiring 'authors note', not an 'authors note' downer spot. I feel fine in my spirit and told several new jokes, laughing heartily at every one of them, just last night. You should have been there!I just get so angry at my feet and hands sometimes when they don't do what I tell them, so I just go on without them. Having fun pounding steel on my anvil with a handsome ten pound sledge hammer named Sledge 'the Ham' Hammer. Eventually, feet and hands do show up, but the fun is over now so Sledge and I make a quick get away! We step out for dinner with a beautiful young blond woman, my precious wife. Sledge rides in the back of the truck as always.I just couldn't bring myself to tell all of you my past woes. I'm just too happy this very moment in time. I refuse to let MS define who I am. I define the way it affects me with God's help, with my attitude and cheer. Life is too precious and fleeting to waste time worrying over every little inconvenience that comes my way. So I don't.It was the summer of 2004 when Little Ms. Blue & Mr. Red Who? was conceived. In this case, the chosen medium were pen and ink instead of hammer & anvil, or clay and kiln. Ink drops were brought to life, as it were, on my sketch book and in my mind.Simple, silly drawings, but with personality and spunk. Unlike Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara, sad Little Miss Blue and 'happy go lucky' Mr. Red knew right away that they were meant for each other.
