Yokomitsu, Riichi
(Author)
|
During the experimental years of the twenties and thirties, Yokomitsu Riichi played a dynamic role in developing the Japanese novel. With Kawabata Yasunari, he was involved in a "neosensualist" literary movement that tried to describe the world through direct sensory impressions rather than through sense interpreted by the mind or emotions. Later, Yokomitsu explored the psychological novel.
