More Description
Although the past may seem foreign and unfamiliar, it should never be forgotten. As for me, I cling onto its memories, but living during those times was a constant struggle with no solace or self-sufficiency. To those who have not experienced such hardships, it would be difficult to understand. It felt like progress was impossible, and everything was stagnant. Many have shared their own experiences of that era, but my story is unique and difficult to put into words. It was a time steeped in ancient history, where suddenly the world seemed to be reborn, but that joy was fleeting and gave way to disappointment. Nevertheless, I refuse to be defeated and will summon the strength of my ancestors to continue the fight.
During that time, I was like any other young person, struggling through childhood with tears and hardships. Every day, I walked barefoot to school, which was 5-6 km away from my home, enduring the freezing cold in hopes of holding onto that memory forever. The winter seemed endless, but eventually, spring arrived, and I was overjoyed. I can barely recall how I managed to eat during that time. Summer brought some relief with its warmth and plentiful fruits, but they were not ours, reminiscent of my early childhood.
The following years were even more challenging, with contempt and humiliation knowing no bounds. Despite my poverty, I held onto my individuality, only realizing its significance recently. It's disheartening to see others not recognizing their own unique qualities. To those special people, I urge you to embrace your individuality.
The characters in this story remain unnamed, as they represent only a few among countless people of their time who suffered senselessly. They were born into a world of discrimination, contempt, and humiliation, waiting in long lines for the barest necessities like kerosene or a bottle of milk. Their daily lives were filled with hard work and finding solace in their community, but sometimes things were even worse. Despite it all, they persevered and found a way to carry on.
