This work deals with combined depth and cake filtration. Mathematical models are derived and the solution is analyzed. For a further investigation, model reduction and parameter identification are used. The models are compared to experimental data, which can be reproduced by the models. In particular, it is shown that a nonlinear pressure drop arising in cake filtration can be explained by the model without considering compression of the cake.
