More DescriptionThe work "See More" deals with the extension of human vision, its reasons and consequences. The basic assumption here, to be discussed and illustrated by way of example, is that for centuries, Western culture has accorded a particular attention to the visual sense. The implications are extensions of the ideological, structural and technical form. The collective and individual goals are firstly, to see more than what human nature makes possible, and secondly, to assure sight an advantage in the context of existing power struggles. This leads to the conclusion that an extension of the visual meaning is always rooted in drives of greed and power aspirations.
