More DescriptionEvil manifests in many forms; just ask Jake Hunter. After serving two hitches as a Navy SEAL and ten years on an elite tactical unit for Cleveland County, he’s seen all kinds—he thought; but psychopath Frederick “Jack the Manson” Jacobsen, is a new one.
As part of a statewide manhunt searching for the Goth serial killer, Deputy Hunter and his partner flush the scumbag holed up in a Lake Thunderbird cabin after gunning down two OKC officers. It’s a violent arrest and during the trial phase, a grudge builds between Hunter and the homicidal maniac until he is sprung in a spectacular escape.
Jake is forced to retire with a back injury after rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on I-35 in hot pursuit. Several surgeries and nine months of physical therapy later, Hunter moves to southern Oklahoma where he expects to retire into laid-back anonymity. But trouble follows and from Dallas to Oklahoma City, Jake searches for answers as livestock are mysteriously slaughtered in their fields, threatening to financially ruin Jake’s father.
The killings continue and one stormy night, Jesus, an illegal immigrant, falls through a barn roof to his death. The ensuing investigation reveals too many unanswered questions and county and state law enforcement attempt to force Jake and his dad to come clean with the truth. However, as events unfold, Jake and his father, Deacon—a hard-headed Viet Nam vet, and Juan—an illegal ranch hand, opt for handling their problem without law enforcement interference.
Things quickly ratchet out of control and Juan invites his sister, Maria, and her drop-dead gorgeous daughter, Concheeta, to fly in from Mexico City, where they work for the Archdiocese.
Suddenly, Jake’s hands are full helping an old high school flame fighting for her life, testing out the hardware in his back with a mesmerizing hypnotic psychologist from Dallas and surviving Concheeta’s love for muscle cars as he and Deacon team up with mother and daughter against an ancient evil in an all-out war—to the death.
