English summary: The change from the hand-written to the printed book took place between the middle of the 15th century and the period around 1500 step-by-step, though for nearly a half-century both forms of book production existed together. The range of relationships between manuscript and print extends from pure imitation to changing and mutual influences up to the concurrence of technical and functional literary devices. At the center of the catalog and exhibition stands the pictorial book decoration of specific literary genres: with the brush painted vines and borders, figurative drawing done in pen and ink and painted miniatures standing next to wood-cut series and printed vignettes. The exhibition leads the visitor through selected examples from the collections of the Wurttemberg State Library in Stuttgart and the library of the University of Heidelberg, produced between the years 1430 and 1530. The interplay of technical-cultural transitions in media and the concrete appearance of the book, as well as the roles of consumer, sellers, and owners are examined in this work. These various roles often decisively influenced the forms of visual display and content of book decoration but also shaped books as objects of representation. German description: Der Ubergang vom handgeschriebenen zum gedruckten Buch vollzog sich zwischen der Mitte des 15. Jahrhunderts und der Zeit um 1500 nach und nach. Uber ein halbes Jahrhundert existierten beide Buchformen nebeneinander. Das Spektrum der Beziehungen von Handschrift und Druck reicht von der reinen Imitation uber wechsel- und gegenseitige Beeinflussungen bis hin zur Konkurrenz der technischen und funktionalen Ausdrucksmittel. Im Mittelpunkt von Katalog und Ausstellung steht der bildkunstlerische Buchschmuck fur spezifische Textgattungen: mit dem Pinsel gemalte Ranken und Borduren, figurliche Federzeichnungsillustrationen und Deckfarbenminiaturen stehen Holzschnittfolgen und gedruckten Vignetten gegenuber. Die Ausstellung fuhrt den Besucher anhand ausgewahlter Beispiele aus den Sammlungen der Wurttembergischen Landesbibliothek Stuttgart und der Universitatsbibliothek Heidelberg in die Jahre zwischen 1430 und 1530. Neben dem Wechselspiel von technisch-kulturellem Medienwandel und dem jeweils konkreten Erscheinungsbild des Buches wird auch die Rolle der Auftraggeber, Kaufer und Besitzer beleuchtet. Sie beeinflussten oftmals die Darstellungsformen und -inhalte des Buchschmucks massgeblich, galten Bucher doch auch als Reprasentationsobjekte.
