More DescriptionAlways the brain, not the "machine".
The capability, expertise and ingenuity of the researcher/analyst constitute the fundamental basis to execute any qualitative analysis of texts: it is the brain that is in charge, not the "machine."
Even if the researcher/analyst utilizes a machine (software) he will always have to begin with a traditional analysis.
If so, why cannot he be free to manipulate, filter, mix the available data and be free from any procedure others built and conceived?
Indeed, the risk would be to surrender our own reasoning, to blindly follow the path "imposed by" a software and not "that path" he chooses among the many crossroads that he encounters during the research and analysis processes.
Our idea then is a very simple one and above all it leaves the researcher/analyst totally free from any constrains a software could place on him. The idea is to use Word and Excel, which are not programs conceived for the analysis of data (social data) and that one can easily bend to our research purposes and goals. In order to be free, you must feel to be free first.
