The two build an unlikely friendship as everything she knew begins to spiral further out of control due to the Count Von Dunkelheit, Charlotte's father, and his perverse habits as well as her own digging up of the past. She begins losing sight of the path she once sought, and is thrown into new infernos from guardianship of tormented souls to threats of the madhouse. Charlotte tells the dark story of her life through a collection of letters, notes, journals, and other mediums in the order she experiences them. A reading not for the faint of heart, pulling it's main inspiration from Emilie Autumn and The Phantom of the Opera as well as other Beauty and the Beast-like stories along with other fables and folktales.
