More DescriptionThis book contains my one hundred favorite stories that I have written for Today's News-Herald in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, from 2014 to 2024.These articles highlight individuals, organizations, businesses, clubs, and non-profits that inspired me as I learned about them and wrote their stories. From 1963 and 1973, the Pioneers settled in Lake Havasu City. They shared the same frontier spirit of founder Robert P. McCulloch, Sr. These trailblazers boated on Lake Havasu and socialized at card games and potlucks. Hundreds worked in the McCulloch Chainsaw factory, mass-producing the lightest chainsaws in the world. These hearty Pioneers reassembled the London Bridge, which became the second-busiest attraction in Arizona next to the Grand Canyon. The Pioneers bonded in friendship as they built schools, raised families, started businesses and established churches. They shared the humbling experience of creating a thriving oasis in the Arizona desert on lots they shared with snakes, scorpions and burros. These are their stories.
