Photography is a fundamental element in our knowledge of the world and in the exchange of ideas between different cultures--sometimes very remote from one another in distance and in time. In recent years, images have invaded our world making a much bigger contribution to planetwide communication than words, creating contacts and conveying information.The editors of the second title of The New Photography In... series have chosen twenty-four of the most interesting artists who best represent the main directions that Italy's photographic language has taken in recent years. All of them are well-known artists between the ages of thirty and forty and show their work in important galleries throughout the world.
