As always, the book takes a process-oriented approach to legal research, integrating legal analysis and organization as it explains how to conduct research in Oregon cases, statutes, legislative history, constitutional law, and administrative law. Several chapters are dedicated to the research process, secondary sources and practice guides, and updating with KeyCite and Shepard's. An appendix reviews current citation to legal sources under Oregon court rules, the ALWD Guide (5th ed.), and the Bluebook (20th ed.).
Concise explanations of resources needed for researching federal law are provided throughout. Thus, Oregon Legal Research can be used as a stand-alone text or in conjunction with a research text concentrating on federal law.
