The story is based in Southern California. Marcus is a straight man born in 1930 whom against all odds, finds the woman of his dreams, in spite of the problems that he and Marie must overcome. They love, they strive, they succeed, and they spend their entire lifetimes together, despite the deck being stacked against them as the most overlooked minority population in the country. This love story is laced with historical facts and laws that are educational for the reader; yet, it is uproariously funny. It challenges you to bend your conception of past and present time. This novel promises to expand your thinking and to pose questions in your mind. It is uplifting, intellectually intriguing, and best of all, it has a happy ending.
