More DescriptionHow to Determine the Weight of a Soul? The invitation didn't really came as a surprise. On the contrary. When BackRock send the letter he, which is to say your father, already had made himself quite a name in trouble shooting and finding the uncertainties within each and every system, be it a complex technical structure, a multidimensional program or a real socio-economic space-time. N. Schwarzer, "The Theory of Everything - Quantum and Relativity is everywhere - A Fermat Universe", Pan Stanford Publishing, (2019), ISBN-10: 9814774472What intrigued him with the BackRock letter, however, was the fact that they did not ask him about checking on a financial market or a corresponding model, but about visiting a secret research facility deep in the Rocky Mountains. There, as your father didn't know at the time, BackRock had financed and conducted a strange project, namely, the measurement of the weight of a human soul. The setup was quite simple. People who were about to die volunteered to be placed into a special chamber for their last minutes, perhaps even hours and there, they died. Don't worry, the patients were not suffocated in the chamber... oh no they all died their ordinary death which had occurred anyway. There were always enough oxygen gas bottles brought into the chamber together with each patient to allow him plenty of time to finish her or his business in peace and in her or his own chosen speed. The specialty of the chamber was that absolutely nothing - so the creating scientists thought anyway - could come in or leave the chamber undetected... be it an electromagnetic signal or anything of substance, the sophisticated technology would have "seen" it. In fact, the chamber was more a kind of a multi-particle-detector hull rather than a chamber and to die in there was probably not everyone's last wish, but BackRock paid its probands more than enough, to quite compensate for their last moments of uneasiness. And there were many who wanted to see their heirs to be well moneyed after they would be gone. Thus, there was never a lack of subjects. However, there was a great lack of understanding the results. Right after the sophisticated high-end machinery inside the chamber registered the death of a patient; there simultaneously was a loss of weight. Without any trace always a constant mass of exactly 38.7 Gramm vanished and it did so in an instant, which is to say in no measurable time at all. According to the scientist's standard model of particles, mass had to be something of substance and that's why it was bound to be detectable by the technical means at hand, but this one was not. So, something had to be wrong and in order to find the flaw, they hired your father and brought him to the facility.
