More DescriptionThe purpose of Joseph Story's Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States of America is to review where the nation began as colonies, and then hear another voice bring up the issues they considered, and the powers, and possible tyrannies, they believed could destroy the nation, if not properly checked in our new government: a democratic-republic.The main focus of this part will be the Commentaries, as we begin to look at it's authoratative voice on the Constitution's origins, meaning and how it should be interpreted. We will begin with the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America, and push through to the Mode of Passing Laws (how laws are to be made in the Republic) as well as Presidntial Negatives to this system. (This relates directly to the seventh section of Article One of the Constitution of the United States of America.)In Patriot's Bookshelf Book Four, we begin at the beginning of the Constitution of the united States of America -- its Preamble. We are then presented with a long-lived political masterpiece broken down piece by piece in "Joseph Story's Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States of America" while continuing to be presented as chapters for easier reading. In Part Two we will See the purpose of the Constitution, and the delicate, yet intricately complex system devised by the Founders to govern this new Republic. I hope we all may enjoy the journey of discovery and the unflinching reminder of what this nation's birth was truly about!
