Children's author Dominique Demers was born on November 23, 1956 in Montreal Canada and later attended the University of Sherbrooke.
Demers is a professor at the University of Sherbrooke and the University of Montreal. She also gives seminars on creative writing and the like at several institutions.
Demers wrote One Winter of Storm, The Large Fir Trees Do Not Die and Mysterious Librarian, all of which received Mr. Christie Awards. She has also received the Judith-Jasmine Prize for Journalism, the Quebec/Wallonie-Brussels Prize, a Governor General's Award nomination, and the Gold Bookmark Award.
