Many people learn by doing and Positively Empowered!! is a workbook that provides 'hands on' exercises for the inward journey of recovering or discovering your positive personal power in order to live life according to your own vision. For the purpose of this workbook, personal power is a merging of self-esteem, self-confidence, self-efficacy and resiliency and it guides to greater self-knowledge in order to build a stronger personal power foundation.The exercises guide those who may feel they need an 'empowerment intervention' because they feel as though they have become 'stuck' on their life journey. It is also for those who have had their power taken from them at some point in their lives by someone using negative personal power ... which is the use of manipulation, coercion or force. For the purpose of the workbook...positive empowerment is a merging of self-esteem and self-confidence with the belief that you have the personal skills and resources to affect your life circumstances. If the messages we received in childhood from family and others (schools, churches, etc.) in our personal environment were primarily positive, we adopted positive and optimistic thinking. Our positive self-talk in turn created our positive beliefs about ourselves which led to positive personal power which is a merging of our high self-confidence, self-esteem, self-efficacy and resiliency. Those negative thoughts became inner self-talk and played over and over in our minds.
