Jake Steinfeld (born February 21, 1958) is an American fitness specialist and entrepreneur in the fitness training industry. He grew up an overweight child with a stutter in Long Island, New York. He overcame those adversities and is now known for creating the industry of personal fitness training. He was the first nationally recognized fitness trainer.
Jake has appeared in several motion pictures and starred in his own sitcom, Big Brother Jake. He has also hosted his own Body by Jake television shows, which led to the creation of "fit tv," a twenty-four hour fitness lifestyle television network. He is Chairman of Body by Jake Enterprises. Jake has authored several books and he has lectured to corporations and universities across the country.
Jake also supports several children's and educational organizations and chairs the Sports Entertainment Sub-Committee for the Watts Cinema and Entertainment Center. He's active with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Organization and has been a spokesman for the NFL's fitness program. He supports the arts by funding the Jake Steinfeld Endowment Program at Regents University and is a funding member of the National Playwright Awards.
