The methodology mainly focuses on an effective method for project setup, specifically for Project Controls based on Earned Value Management Principles. It does not mandate specific planning or cost-control software; however, it has been found that an effective project setup structure improves the performance of most of the current project planning and cost-control software on the market.
The main difference maker is the integrated approach. This approach enables management to conduct integrated baseline reviews (IBRs), where the scope, schedule, and budgets as well as the Engineering & Design, Procurement, and Construction Risks are integrated at the control account level.
Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) are also an important EVM process.
