So, enjoy the book and take it with you as you journey through the city of Delhi, exploring the vast array of monuments that Delhi has to offer.Purana QilaThe Purana Qila (Old Fort) in its current form was built by the founder of the Sur Empire, Sher Shah Suri. He is said to have built a raised citadel surrounded by large walls and bastions, with the sprawling city of Delhi around it. The fort was also part of the Mughal Emperor Humayun's Inner citadel of the city of Din Panah. Over its history, the Purana Qila has shifted hands many times, and has always been an integral part of Delhi. Today, it is one of the must-visit monument complexes in New Delhi, located right next to the Delhi Zoological Park. Although, much of the fort complex now lies in ruins, a few surviving buildings depict the magnificence of the architectural style of an era bygone.
