This story is what happened to them during the years they were running from the Military. They met Elizabeth and Marcus Chase on board a paddle Wheeler leaving Memphis and headed to New Orleans. They ended up going to the southern tip of Louisiana looking for a treasure buried by the pirate Jean Laffite. When they left, they had dover a million dollars in gold , silver, jewelry accumulated by three pirates and buried .k In getting away with their treasure . They used maxim Machine guns and killed twenty two men just to get back to a river boat to New Orleans. Romance abounds , when Marcus dies leaving a widow that became close to Duke.
