More DescriptionLieutenant Rufus Randall, Confederate States Army, is assigned to cross into enemy held territory to rescue Miss Lilly Raintree, spy and Randall's sometime lover, who has been arrested by the Federal Army and is being held in Stafford Courthouse, Virginia. When he arrives, he is arrested and finds that Lilly has lured him there to prove to the Federals that she is loyal to the Union. Randall escapes and tries to free Lilly, but when she tells him her plan, he plays along with it, using his troop to protect Lilly as she leads them in a plot to steal the Union Army payroll hidden at Harper's Ferry. While this is happening, the Union Army, now under General Burnside, is assembling along the Rappahannock River opposite the Virginia town of Fredericksburg with the intention of crossing the river and defeating the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia. Randall and his men must dodge Federal cavalry as they encounter Virginia patriots and Confederate bushwhackers, plus feed and maintain themselves in enemy held territory as the two armies prepare for the encounter that will be called the Battle of Fredericksburg.
