Ishikawa, Takuboku
(Author)
|
Ishikawa's first works were published when he was only 19. The son of a Zen priest, he was fired from a teaching job (one in a string of many professions he tried) for participation in a student strike. In his development from a romantic poet to a naturalist writer to a socialist writer, Ishikawa was associated with several literary movements. Today he is known as a poet and diarist.
