Metal organic frameworks have been shown to be nearly ten times as efficient in storing a gas compared to a chamber devoid of their presence. Self-assembled ruthenium squares, cubes, and triangles may have the same storage efficiencies. However, the self-assembled structures offer the advantage of control whereby the gas stored may be captured or released when the structure is oxidized or reduced. This book details the synthesis and analysis of ruthenium(II) thioether corners and self-assembled structures.
