More DescriptionIn a world of violence and crimeSin flows though the veins of mankindBut God's redeeming light shinesWith love in the darkest of timesAlthough the book of Ruth was set against the bleak backdrop of the Judges' rule in Israel, its contents are far more relevant to us than we could ever imagine. The struggles faced by the characters in this book differ but a little from the challenges faced in our world today. God's redeeming love, shown through the heroes and heroines of this book, has never changed since the beginning of time. The book of Ruth was originally written as a third-person narrative, whereby each and every character is referred to by the narrator as 'he', 'she', 'it', or 'they', but never as 'I' or 'we' (first-person), or 'you' (second-person). However, each chapter of this book relays the story, through poetry, using a first-person narrative. The story of Ruth is retold through the recollections of the characters themselves.
