During summers in high school he worked as a railroad laborer (gandy dancer) in the northern peninsula in Michigan and as a seal blubberer for the Fouke Fur Company for three summers in the Pribilof Islands Alaska. Bob entered active duty as a Midshipman in 1949 at Pensacola NAS Florida where the real love story begins after meeting his bride-to-be Mary Sabra Sanchez.His astonishing career, multiple awards for valor and distinguished service, are only amplified by his love of family, life and his beautiful wife Sabra and there loving family.
