The third edition of Harold F. Schuknecht's Pathology of the Ear has been reorganized and consists of four sections: Anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the ear; Disease processes of the ear; and Histopathology following surgical treatment. An entirely new section has been developed, Patterns of degeneration of the ear with multiple etiologies, which will serve as a helpful guide to the reader to recognise that multiple etiologies may result in a similar histopathologic phenotype.
