More DescriptionThe aim of this book is to give insight into second-hand markets for consumer durables and to show their relevance from an economic, environmental and social viewpoint. It consists of four parts; part one describes the consumers in second-hand markets. The second part describes and analyses the price structure in these markets. Part three considers the bargaining process, focusing on reaching an agreement, including perceived probabilities to derive the prices. Finally, a prediction of second-hand purchases is made, depending on specific variables. All four parts include empirical studies. Based on the results of the studies, recom- mendations for future research and practical implications from both environmental and marketing perspectives are given.
