Since first hearing of it, I've worried about death. How can a little kid, or anyone, look forward to a time in which he doesn't exist? My religious education was average, but how can a kid believe in a Heaven described as a happier place than Disneyland and more magical than television when he already knows that these are man made contrivances, and that his parents fill in for Santa Clause? We're all born with the wish, maybe even, expectation, that we'll live forever. Mythology is filled with ways this can happen, but I've disregarded all that are clearly fantasy or fraud, and I believe that all the established laws of physics are true. Where is the wiggle room? Because death is a normal part of life it must be understood in the context of the whole life. This book describes seven steps that we take to get through life and makes suggestions about how to make them easy and to be satisfied when we've finished. It discusses the relationship of death to life as we experience them and points to where we might find some wiggle room.
