Wolfgang Weiss has never wanted a Festschrift, but the editors with their contributors felt that is was high time to congratulate an outstanding scholar and academic teacher on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Our essays pay respect to Wolfgang Weiss's major fields of research and teaching, that is, first of all Shakespeare and the Early Modern Period, satire, and campus novels; and they cast fresh light on numerous exciting and new aspects.
