Cathleen Davitt Bell was born in Princeton, NJ, in 1971. She lived there until she was twelve and the family moved to West Hartford, CT.

Cathleen went to college in New York, at Barnard, and stayed in New York after she graduated. She worked a variety of jobs including newspaper reporter, salesperson for a multimedia publisher, market researcher, and finally copywriter. Her books include Slipping, her first book, and Little Blog on the Prairie.
