Author Biography
Claflin, Edward Beecher (Author)
The son of a lawyer and an artist, Edward Beecher Claflin was born on April 14, 1949, in Stamford, Connecticut. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College in 1972, Claflin moved to New York City to work as an editor for Amnesty International. In 1973, Claflin left to work for Wentworth Press as a contributing editor.

Claflin's other credentials include working as a journalist at Youth Education magazine in 1973-74, writing for Tellex Monitors in London, England, in 1975-1976, and working as an editor for Gardening magazine in Villanova, Pennsylvania, in 1978. A member of the Authors Guild of America, Claflin has been an editor for House and Porch Gardens magazine in Villanova since 1979.

A contributor of poems to numerous magazines and author of the plays Lobster Trap and Murdoch Gibbs, Claflin has also written the books Ruffian, Queen of the Fillies, Street Magic, and The Irresistible American Softball Book.
