This book represents the efforts of eleven teens and pre-teens enrolled in the South Dallas Cultural Center's Summer Arts at the Center Program. They created poetry inspired by the writers of the Harlem Renaissance and also used their creativity to write poems addressing social issues. They were guided in this endeavor by author Kijana Martin who also instructed them on how to publish a book.
