The type of man she's looking for is hard to find. He has to have the same virtuous set of values as hers. She keeps telling herself that she's not going to give up until she finds the right man. Still she finds it hard to resist her boss, Steven Cartan, even though she considers him all wrong for her. She's heard all the bad gossip about him from the office grapevine. Rumors that Steven wined, dined and bedded women. If a woman hinted at marriage, he dropped her like a hot potato and found another woman to date. Jessica didn't want to be in the hot potato group so for the life of her, she couldn't figure out why she found Steven Cartan so appealing. Steven CartanSteven finds himself liking Miss Prim and Proper Jessica Showman enough to marry her. He's attracted to her because she'd make the perfect wife for him and a great mother for his children. Jessica admitted to him she's heard too many rumors about him. She doesn't trust him enough to commit to him until she's sure of him. He's trying to be patient with her so he doesn't scare her away until she makes up her mind. Right now he finds her a challenge.
