More DescriptionGod claims to be sovereign, giving rise to the phrase which is ubiquitous in Christian circles: "God is in control." But Scripture also says, "The whole world is under the control of the evil one" (1 John 5:19). So which is it? Is God in control? Or is Satan in control? Similarly, God simultaneously claims to be the God of justice and the God of mercy. How can this be, since justice and mercy are opposites? And if God is unlimited as he claims, why does he limit himself in dealing with our obviously flawed world? These and similar questions are explored in this book. Each chapter will analyze a seemingly contradictory facet of our multifaceted God. Analyzing God-that is the subject of this book. "Theology" would be a more formal descriptor. But there is nothing formal about this book. This will not be a neat and tidy walk through academia. Rather, this will be a book about hard truths from an author who wrestled them all the way to the brink of faithlessness and back.
