Author Biography
Hunter, Tab (Author)
Tab Hunter was born Arthur Andrew Kelm in Manhattan, New York on July 11, 1931. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard at the age of 15, lying about his age to enlist. He was discharged a year later when the Coast Guard discovered he was underage. At the age of 17, he changed his name to Tab Hunter at the suggestion of his talent agent. He appeared in over 40 films including Battle Cry, The Burning Hills, The Girl He Left Behind, Damn Yankees, Polyester, and Lust in the Dust.

His autobiography, Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star co-written with Eddie Muller, was published in 2005. The book was adapted into the 2015 documentary Tab Hunter Confidential. He died from cardiac arrest on July 8, 2018 at the age of 86.
