Mike Medavoy has been involved in over 300 feature films. Born in Shanghai, China, Medavoy grew up in Chile. He began his career in 1964 at Universal--rising quickly from mailroom to the position of casting director. In 1965 he became a talent agent working at General Artist Corporation before moving to Creative Management Agency as vice president. He joined International Famous Agency in 1971 before co-founding Orion Pictures in 1978. In 1990, after twelve fruitful years at Orion, Medavoy became chairman of Tri-Star Pictures. Now chairman of Phoenix Pictures, Medavoy lives in Los Angeles.
