More DescriptionExcavations were conducted within a portion of the Hohokam village of S'edav Va'aki between 1997 and 2007. These excavations were done prior to commercial development of a 35-acre parcel, known as the Sun America project. During the course of the excavations, over two thousand prehistoric features were identified that included houses, human burials, animal burials, cooking pits, and many other types of pits. Although the excavations were completed, further analysis and reporting of the work was not. This is Volume 1 of a two-volume report that presents the results of these investigations. Volume 1 provides a descriptive and interpretive summary of the features, a chronological reconstruction, and an in-depth discussion of the mortuary features.
