This book is about my personal views of the 21st Century, to date. As we've entered a new decade-the 2020's on January 1, 2020; I must say that I feel that we've entered a whole different world with our entrance into this new decade, the second of the 21st Century. I am not ready to accept that as of the 2020's, the 1960's are six decades ago, the 1970's five, the 1980's four, the 1990's three, and the 2000's two. More DescriptionThis book is about my personal views of the 21st Century, to date.
I am very well used to the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's being a decade, or two, or three ago. I can also remember when human beings and establishments who were born or established in the early 1960's had turned 30 by the early 1990's (for instance, a human being or an establishment that was born or established in 1962 had turned 30 by 1992).
in 1976.
I am not ready to accept conventional DVDs, Blu-Ray Discs, Memory Sticks, and Memory Cards potentially being phased out in favor of video streaming, so-called "Cloud"-based remote data storage; public, internet-based video sharing on websites such as YouTube; and any form of hard media for an individual to physically possess as part of his or her treasure trove, like a paper document or an artifact, may entirely be a thing of the past.
I am not ready to accept internet-based Podcasts and Audio Streaming potentially supplanting AM, FM, and Shortwave Radio Stations located the world over; as my love for radio, including the histories of certain Radio Stations, DXing Shortwave and distant AM/Mediumwave Stations, considering the engineering aspects of Radio, pondering over AM/Mediumwave and Shortwave signals traveling further than their intended Groundwave coverage once the ionosphere has opened during the nighttime hours (this is what we, Radio Enthusiasts and Engineers refer to as Skywave coverage); and of course, mailing Reception Reports by the way of conventional Postal Mail and potentially receiving QSL Cards or Letters as a response; will all be gone.
I am not ready to accept internet-based Video Streaming potentially supplanting terrestrial Television Stations. Cable and Satellite Television, I, personally am not concerned about. As the histories of terrestrial Television Stations-many of which are stepchildren of AM/Mediumwave Radio Stations, and the engineering aspect of terrestrial Television are important to me; I don't think I can bear all of that potentially being gone.
I cannot, and will not accept Gray, along with Gray-stained wood, fake patina, and padded furniture with strange upholstery being the new normal with home décor design. Nor can I handle gray being the preferred color on home and commercial building exterior décor. Beige, and any other color besides Gray-including Blue, Green, and Red are acceptable to me. My ideal home décor consists of Wood Paneling, Wallpaper, and colors such as White, Dark Brown, Beige, Mauve; and Green.
In fact, I cannot handle real patina on vehicles and on buildings being the 'in' thing as of the time of writing this book. Patina on vehicles really puts a stake in my heart, so much so that the term "putting a stake in my heart" is an understatement; as I would prefer that an older and tired vehicle be wholly restored, or be in original condition that had been babied for its entire life, and is like-new with absolutely no patina whatsoever.
Heck, I can't even accept the Gray décor and Gray-stained wood, along with the strange padded furniture rapidly becoming the norm in new Recreational Vehicles (RVs) that are being produced as of the time of writing this book. I've always liked the traditional décor inside of RVs, and I've always thought that the traditional décor inside of RVs was warm, inviting, welcoming; and cozy.
Tattoos have always irritated me, as have also people dyeing their hair these strange colors.
