The Brecht Yearbook is a venue for discussion about aspects of theater and literature that were of particular interest to Brecht, especially the politics of literature and the politics of theater in a global context. The Yearbook, like Brecht himself, is committed to the concept of the use value of literature, theater, and theory.
Volume 35 has a special section on questions of Marxism and ethics in the work of Brecht. Other contributions focus on the early years of the author and the theory and practice of staging Brechtian plays. The volume also includes two contemporary texts written in the Brechtian tradition.
