More DescriptionTom and Mary had a great marriage life. Five years of peace and harmony and blessed with a daughter first year after a glamourous wedding. The couple knew themselves from infancy as their parents live in the same community and attended the same church/ They both were brilliant and got good education Mary went to a University of Ghana in the capital, Accra and Tom went to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology at Kumasi. Mary majored in Law and continued to a Law School to become a professional practitioner. Tom read Architecture and got First class was offered a Teaching Assistance and continued his Graduate Studies a Massachusetts Institute of Science and Technology at Boston in the United States. He returned as lecturer at the same University for five year. The two had parallel career progression that at their wedding most people said it was a perfect union. They accepted a four-bedroom suite from Tom's father as a wedding gift and lived in to build their dream house to move on their fifth anniversary. Everything was going well and very smoothly
But one fateful morning a near calamity struck. A woman Tom had casual relationship with while in Kumasi came to his office with twin boys as his children. Tom could not deny and how was he going to handle this with Mary. It was impossible to explain it to his wife so he run to his parents. Fortunately for him he had kept a very good relationship with the circle of in-laws and his parents , in particular. I believe that a security every marriage should have. Any couple would manage their lives as much as possible, but, like in life accidents happen. Something the two of you may not handle by yourselves, then you fall on that security. The family took responsibility to insulate the marriage and addressed the issue to the satisfaction of Mary, Tom , the two boys and their mother. A custom of Tom's father acknowledging all his grandchildren brought the the boys home seamlessly.
The story tries to raise the issue of who we are. How ethnic relationships impact on our lives that may inure to things that affect your lie sometime. As we cannot ignore them entirely we should we should employ mechanisms within that system to help solve what they bring. Marriage should therefore be a union of families.
