William was hanging by his wrist on a hanging hook. He watched as the strange toys devoid of their cheerful exterior constructed more of their kind. His head reminded him that at least one of these toys managed to hit him on the head with a club of some sort. How had these toys learned to do this?
As if in answer to his question a young woman entered the Cavern in the sewer. William knew her, but the splitting headache prevented him from making the connection. She sat kn a chair made from parts of Damaged toys.
"I know you, Mister Hazard," said the Queen of Clockwork. "We have been watching your home."
William's mind flew to Rowena and Johnny, two people he had come to care a great deal about. They had to know about them.
William renewed his attempts to get out of the handcuffs. He had to get free to save them and all of Washington DC from the clockwork toy army. Get the whole story. Buy the book!
