The world may indeed know Merieta Altrichter for her donuts, but within her own family, she was most famous for her ability to heal pets and mentor generations to carry on the donut shop business. The book is a collaboration of five generations of Merieta's family. All help fry and serve millions of donuts every summer on the shores of Lake Superior from the cheery red building with the white scalloped trim.
