Lev Navrozov was born in Moscow, Soviet Union on November 26, 1928. He attended the Institute of Foreign Languages at Moscow State University and later translated into English works by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Anton Chekhov, Aleksandr Herzen, and Mikhail Prishvin. He emigrated to the United States in 1972. His book, The Education of Lev Navrozov: A Life in the Enclosed World Once Called Russia, was published in 1975. His worked appeared in Commentary, Newsmax, and WorldTribune.com. He died on January 22, 2017 at the age of 88.
